What we did
Using Verisio’s Evaluate Quality Management audit we reviewed the essentials that drive consistent quality. The audit focused on six areas: incoming materials, process controls, specifications & change control, equipment & maintenance, packaging, labelling & transit readiness, and records & traceability.
From this, we issued a clear, time-bound action plan. It prioritised a small number of high-impact fixes, with named owners, and short deadlines. Factory teams received brief check-ins to unblock issues and confirm that agreed steps were in place.
Outcomes
-
- Risk avoided: No product recall; the seasonal launch went ahead on time.
-
- Fewer defects: Issues were caught and resolved before shipment; first-pass acceptance improved.
-
- Greater confidence: Buyers were confident to place repeat orders and scale the programme.
Why it worked
-
- Focus on what mattered: through the audit process we were able to quickly identify the route cause and target the corrective actions. For this sites it was all about minimising impact on launch and protecting the customer.
-
- Right-sized plan: Actions matched factory capability, with clear owners and simple plan supported by Verisio.
-
- Light, regular oversight: Short check-ins kept momentum without adding extra pressure on the site.
What’s next
The retailer is extending the same audit approach to additional sites and embedding it into their standard onboarding process for new factories.
